Steve Sealey

After stepping down from the board of Aquarius in 2012 to concentrate on other business interests, Steve Sealey took up the role of chairman in Hope Capital.

His role within Hope Capital, as well as being principle investor, is one of strategic guidance for the company and its board of directors.

Jonathan Sealey

Jonathan started Hope Capital in 2011 after working in property for over 9 years, and oversees the day to day running of the company.

Previously working for a property developer and a venture capital firm gave him the impetus to start up Hope Capital and merge the two skilled disciplines which he had developed throughout his working life: property and investment.

Mark Slater
Financial Director

Mark is responsible for the internal finances and financial reporting of Hope Capital.

Mark has several years of experience in working for a wide variety of owner managed businesses.

Priding himself on a high level of customer service he has a wide experience across the SME sector providing commercial finance director advice.

Brian Baker
Head of Business Development

Brian is responsible for overseeing the business development of Hope Capital through development and management of broker relations throughout England and Wales.

Brian has been actively involved in the bridging finance industry for over twenty years both as a broker/introducer and also a senior business development manager for several highly respected bridging finance houses, and brings a wealth of experience from both sides of the fence.

Wayne Lee
Business Development Manager

Wayne is responsible for developing new business across the UK. He has worked in financial services for approximately 20 years.

Wayne has been a BDM previously, and has also handled bridging finance deals from start to finish through private funders as well as holding various positions with mortgage brokers and packagers. His experience of dealing with both brokers and clients, coupled with his industry experience enables him to understand broker requirements and deliver an excellent service

Maria Magnussen
Business Development Manager for London and the South

Maria is responsible for developing new business from London and the south. She has worked in financial services since leaving college many years ago.

Having worked in the specialist broking market, firstly as a broker and more recently as a business development manager, Maria has a wealth of experience working with brokers and their clients, and having been a broker herself, is fully aware of their needs and frustrations, making it easy for new and existing brokers to deal with Hope Capital.


Racheal Harkins
Business Development Manager for Wales and the South West

Racheal is responsible for developing new business across Wales and the South West. She has specialised in the funding proposals market for 4 ½ years.

Racheal comes from a brokerage background and has a clear understanding of what brokers’ and clients’ requirements are from their perspective. She has worked bridging and commercial cases from start to finish to a very high success rate, she is well known for her tenacity in getting cases over the line. She has a very strong knowledge of the bridging market and this has allowed her to build and maintain strong relationships within the industry, with brokers, clients and packagers alike.


Laura Carr

Laura is responsible for supporting Hope Capital with the effective and efficient running of the underwriting department, ensuring a speedy response for borrowers and brokers.

Laura works closely with brokers and borrowers to ensure that all lending criteria is met, and to ensure that there is an effective relationship between all parties involved. This involves making sure that all the relevant documentation is obtained for sanction and to ensure that the process runs as smoothly as possible from beginning to end.

Pauline O’Gorman
Operations Manager

Pauline is responsible for the organisation of both the office and the board ensuring a speedy response of borrowers and investors.

Pauline has worked with various strategic project teams and believes that communicating with people and building relationships is key to achieving success.

Hayley Taylor
Broker Liaison

Hayley’s responsibilities include running the underwriting department, ensuring a speedy response for borrowers and brokers. Working together with all parties involved in the lending process to achieve a smooth process to obtain sanction and ensure that all lending criteria is met.

Hayley has worked with a variety of clients from individuals to large corporates in obtaining credit sanction on a number of property deals, including manufacturing, retail, office and residential.

Sarah Cropper
Redemptions & Case Manager

Sarah has worked in financial services for over 30 years and has experience in residential lending and legal services. She has worked mainly within the corporate sector, ensuring the highest level of customer service for her clients.

Her responsibilities are to work closely with the client and broker to ensure the timely redemption of the loans, along with working together with all parties to provide effective solutions.

Gemma Bancroft
Case Manager

Gemma’s responsibilities include working closely with brokers and clients during the application process, ensuring a smooth and quick turnaround for all parties.

Gemma has worked in financial services for fourteen years, mainly in the corporate sector and prides herself on delivering the best possible service to her clients.


Tracey North
BDM Relationship Manager/Underwriter

 Tracey is responsible for liaising between the business development team and their broker network to ensure a speedy and efficient delivery of service. She is also a key member of the underwriting team, ensuring that all required information is received whilst providing a quick decision for the client.

Tracey has a wealth of experience gained during her 30 years in financial services. She has dealt with a variety of clients from private individuals through to large commercial operators in a number of sectors but with the emphasis on real estate lending and prides herself on the excellent customer service she delivers.
